The World Need Same Global Health Insurance
The various of world epidemics such as SARS can be eliminated by increasing health standards in the poor countries through a new global health insurance scheme, Medicines sans frontieres co-founder Bernard Kouchner said, reports the Montreal Gazette.
The idea of World Health Security is called by Kouchner. With colleagues at Harvard University’s Medical School and the Conservatoire National des arts et metiers in Paris, where he teaches, the World Bank has been asked by him for $200,000 to study about it in the developing world. Though vague on the details of how it would work, microcredit to grassroots organizations in poor countries could be extended by the World Bank to help them fend off disease, it is a kind of insurance policy against having sick that is given directly to poor people. In the industrialized countries of the North, Kouchner said$ that they were bloated with money compared with those who had none.
The money of $2,000 per person per year on health has been spent by us. Just $3 to $5 each is gotten by the poor people. We are a big family the one gets sick means all will feel it. If we don’t care them, It is a great danger of getting sick, too. You aren’t able to permit disease to transmit for others. That is impossible.
Talking to reporters, he thought that the infectious diseases would touch everybody and either we discontinue travelling, it is uncomfortable, or every year there will be new health warning.
About SARS, he added, a general public’s awareness has been reminded people of the world. It is important and urgent to lead to another awareness of the necessity to help other people. And it is where the idea came from for global health insurance.
