The Lemonade Diet Detox
If you’re not ready for the lemonade diet detox, there is a good chance you wont make it. Since it only lasts 10 days a lot of people just jump right in, thinking they’ll be able to do it easy as pie. You will experience hunger, aches, and likely irritability as your body detoxes and adjusts (albeit temporarily) to a liquid diet. Instead of thinking about completing the whole diet, just focus on getting by those initial three days. As the lemonade diet detoxes your body, you’ll experience light to moderate headaches, and maybe muscle or joint discomfort as well. This is a good sign, even if it’s not exactly pleasant. These discomforts are the result of your body detoxing and rejuvenating itself. You can alleviate some of the discomfort by drinking plenty of water, and by relaxing. Don’t push yourself too hard while doing the lemonade diet detox; remember, this is a time for your body to recover itself. Relax, let the process take its course, and refrain from activities more strenuous than walking and light exercise. I’d also suggest massage.
Between hunger and headaches, and the general discomfort as your body releases long-stored toxins, you can expect to be a little irritable. Actually, quite a bit irritable. It could help if you let people around you know what’s going on, that irritability is a side effect of the lemonade diet detox. If you can’t take time off work (and really, who wants to use vacation time for a diet?), try and pick a time when you’re not swamped.
